Oregon 2009 - October Newsletter
Another
month almost gone and the planning continues for your next
Cruise Oregon adventure!
I can report that we have almost all of the hotels blocked
and things are moving right along. Tonight we discussed the
various hotels, started working on events in each town, and
decided on our mascot for the cruise. In case you are wondering
what the frogs are all about, well, the state amphibian for
Washington state is the Pacific Chorus Frog, so that will
be our "animal" this coming year.
As stated before, the mileage for this trip will be under
1,000 miles, so we should have plenty of time on driving days
to see the sights and not have to rush. Part of the trip will
be along the Cascade Hwy which is beautiful! Here is a link
for you to look at for a "sneak peek".

The dates for Cruise Oregon are July 11 - 19, 2009. All in
all, should be a very good time!
I'll have MUCH more to tell you next month, so stay
tuned!

Cruise
Oregon 2009 - September Newsletter
Hi
Everyone!
Well, the car show season is winding down and it's almost
time to put our cars to bed again for another year. We hope
you all had a GREAT summer and are all ready for Fall.
By now you should have received your snail mail newsletter
telling you all the results from "Yo-Ho To Tahoe".
As stated in the newsletter, we were able to donate $4,178.50
to Mt. Hood Hospice! That amount was raised on our one week
trip, and thanks go out to ALL OF YOU for your good sportsmanship
when getting fines, and your generous natures.
Our September meeting was very fruitful, and as promised,
the miles and driving days will be much shorter this coming
year. We have the towns figured out and are working on fine
tuning the route and checking on hotels along the way. Just
to whet your appetites, here is a run down on where we will
be having our overnight stays on Cruise Oregon 2009.
Saturday, July 11 - Puyallup, Washington
Sunday and Monday July 12th & 13th - Leavenworth, Washington
Tuesday and Wednesday July 14th & 15th - Winthrop, Washington
Thursday, July 16th - Mt. Vernon, Washington
Friday, July 17th - Bremerton, Washington
Saturday, July 18th - Olympia/Lacey, Washington
We are also discussing lunch stops, events in different towns,
and evening festivities. I can tell you that we will have
two separate days cruising the beautiful scenic Cascade Hwy,
which is a MUST SEE if you have not been there.
That will give you all something to think about for now...it
looks to be another good cruise coming up!
As stated last month, pictures from this year's cruise have
been posted on our website if you want to take a look at them.
The pictures were garnered from 4 different sources, and if
you have one or two you would like to add to the site, please
feel free to email them to me. Our space on the site is a
bit limited, so please do not send all of them - just your
favorite ones. Please also tell me where the picture was taken
so I can put it under the appropriate link.
Thanks everyone! Talk to you again next month!
Cruise
Oregon 2009 - August Newsletter
Welcome Home Cruisers!
Wasn't that an absolutely fabulous trip? Lake Tahoe was worth
all the driving to get there, don't you agree? And how about
that thunderstorm? You would think a group of wetheads from
Oregon would be used to rain, but we all stood outside and
stared like we had never seen it before!
Your committee had it's first meeting Wednesday night to talk
over the trip just ended and start the planning for 2009.
As stated on the cruise, we will be traveling to Washington
again next year, sticking to the middle and western part of
the state. We are trying to keep the miles down to around
1,000 or so, and after two year's of long trips it looks to
be a relaxing cruise.
We have read your comment cards, and discussed the content.
If you still haven't sent yours in yet, could you please do
so? Your input is important!
Karen is working on a print newsletter that you should be
receiving in the mail by the end of the month. It will tell
you how much we made and donated to Hospice, and highlight
some of the fun things that happened on the trip this year.
Pictures are on the website. If you want to take a look, go
to here
and click on photos. They are separated by towns and events.
You can also save any picture from our website. If something
tickles your fancy, right click on it and save it to your
own computer. We love to share photos!
The committee is fine tuning the route for next year and I
hope to be able to tell you more about it next month. We have
to contact the towns we are thinking of, etc., before we put
the word out to see if they can accommodate a group of our
size.
I hope you are enjoying the last of your summer, and you'll
be hearing from me again next month!
Take care everyone!
